Mary Rasmussen and daughter, daugh-ter, Helen formerly of Lapoint, but who lives in Salt Lake City, were visiting her brother, Thur-mer Thur-mer Rasmussen , and family-during family-during the week. Lyle and Beulah Taylor had their tonsils removed Monday at Vernal. Mrs. Elizabeth Nebeker and Mrs. Annie Warburton accompanied accom-panied Mrs. Warburton's granddaughter, grand-daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tad Merkley to Salt Lake City on Monday to SDend a week visit ing. Mr. Merkley has been inducted in-ducted in the U S Army. . A party was held Monday night by Hayden Foster's Sunday Sun-day school class at the Thurmer Rasmussen home, honoring Duane Hacking who is home on a furlough from the Navy, also Darrell Huber who has been inducted in-ducted in the army and reports in Salt Lake on the 13th, and for Barbara Rasmussen who left Wednesday for St. George to teach music in the Dixie High school the coming season. Games were played and a delicious lunch served. Mrs. Opal Cox Lance and son of Draper visited her brother, Loyal Cox and family during the week, Mrs. O. Dean Cox and son accompanied her home for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. James Nowland and new baby daughter of Los Angeles, California are visiting her mother, Mrs. Alice Angus and sons. Mrs. Earl Gadd and daughter Delores. of Pod's Place. Colo rado, visited her daughter, Mrs. Eva Christenson and June Lee Tuesday. Elmer Huber accompanied Raymond Bigelow to Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Mr. Huber will remain there for medical treatment. , Merlyn Pillsbury visited in Salt Lake City the past week with relatives and friends. Joan Nebeker visited the past week in Gusher with her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Al Semkins. Mrs. Roxa Taylor moved to the Elroy Norton home in town Friday. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Walker and daughter, Dora Dee attended the funeral of Mr. Walkers' mother, Mrs. Anna M. Walker at Sandy Friday. Mrs. Walker was 71 years old. I. Sander of Heber was in Lapoint La-point Saturday on business. Keith Ross and family of Vernal Ver-nal visited her mother, Mrs. Roxa Taylor on Sunday. Mrs. Nelda Wilkins and children chil-dren of Roosevelt visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs; George Bigelow Sunday. I school this year. Kenneth Benson and Dee Drollinger attended the State Fair in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. James Nowland, Sr., and daughter Rose, and Mr. and Mrs. James Nowland, Jr., and small daughter of Ingle-wood, Ingle-wood, California, are visiting relatives in Ioka and Lapoint. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ames are visiting Mr. Ames' parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Ames. Wayne is in the Navy and lias been in a hospital for some time. Elmer Lemon was the guest of John Asa Webb at Bluebell Wednesday afternoon and night, and retutnred home Thursday. Mrs. Mary Lemon announces the birth of a daughter Saturday, Satur-day, September 9, at the Roosevelt Roose-velt hospital. Mrs. Lemon's husband, hus-band, Paul Lemon is with the armed forces in England. Mrs. Carl Johanson and daughter, Dian visited Mrs. John Angus Friday. Mrs. Zelma Lloyd entertained Friday at a shower for her daughter in law, Mrs. Doyl Lloyd. Many beautiful gifts were received. The Seeley threshing machine from Bluebell has been thresh-1 ing here the past week . Ward conference was held Sunday, with Stake President Ray E. Dillman and Counselor Leland Angus as visitors.
