Show County Com. Ready Set of Plans For Returning Men War veterans and men returning return-ing from wartime industry who wish to enter farm work will be enabled to do so through the efforts ef-forts of county committees now being set up in Utah, Director W. W. Owens, of the Utah Extension Service states. This work will be hendlcd through the committees which will consist of the county agent and leaders in every phase of farming activity in the county. Upon being mustered out of the army or released from industry, men will report to local selective service boards, who will assign them to the county committees if they indicate a preference for farm work, or wish to acquire farm land for themselves. Responsibilities of the committees com-mittees will be six in number, as follows: To help those who arc undecided unde-cided about entering agriculture to make sound dicision, and ad- vise regarding the opportunities in non-agricultural activities as well as those in agriculture. To direct and advise those who are inexperienced in agriculture agri-culture to obtain proper training cither in colleges or in practical agriculture as a farm laborer, or as a tenant before beginning as a farm owner. To be able to refer those in need of special information to such sources as will be able to provide the information needed. To provide sound direction in regard to such items as types of farm, size of farm, the location ' of various typos of farms, and other important organizational and management factors. To give nractical advice re-garding re-garding the quality and quantity of resources available in their area and perhaps to pass judz ment on particular resources ing considered by an individual and to be able to provide infor mation regarding the opportun itics that are available in agH culture in other counties of the state and in other states. |
