"If family shoe ration stamps have been used, parents may ap-py ap-py to, local war price and rationing ration-ing board for shoe certificates for children, although certificates certifi-cates will be issued only to those who have no stamps left," Mr. Taylor said. "The supply of children's shoes is not large and parents are advised to apply only if need is acute," he added. COMPLETES BASIC Amarillo, Texas Private Arnold Mecham, son of Maxine S. Mecham of Mt. Emmons, Utah has completed his courses in basic bas-ic training for Army Air Forces soldiers t the basic training center cen-ter at Amarillo Army Air Field. Before entering service he was a student Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural college. Pvt. Mecham expects to enter Gunery school after which he plans to go to technical school in Armorer. W HOME ON FURLOUGH Pvt. Clifford Ray Betts arrived ar-rived home September 1st for a 12-day furlough, and left Tuesday Tues-day for Ft. G. Meade Maryland. Ray is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Betts of Ballard. He entered en-tered the Infantry April 14, 1944 and has been stationed at Camp Roberts, California. IN THE NAVY Jack Einerson, son of Mrs, Ann Einerson, spent a few days here on leave last week. He entered en-tered the Navy July 7, 1943 and received his "boot" training at Farragut, Idaho, and was then sent to Treasure Island where he took training for the armed guard. He spent 10 months in combat duty somewhere in the South Pacific. He left here to report re-port to his base in California, 'pa Pa VISITING FRIENDS Mcrlyn Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Reynolds is home visiting this week while delay enroute. Merlyn is a bombardier bom-bardier and has been stationed at Santa Ana, California the past three months. His wife. Grace Reynolds of Salt Lake City accompanied ac-companied him here for a visit. HERE VISITING Orman Sullivan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sullivan of Roosevelt who has been stationed station-ed at Santa Ana, California, is visiting friends and relatives while on a delay enrowte furlough. fur-lough.
