Show D. R. Adams succumbs at 85 LAYTON Diamond Rufus Adams, 85, of 765 Church, died Saturday, March 19, 1988, in a Clearfield nursing home of heart failure. He was born Aug. 20, 1902, in Layton, a son of Marion Fifth and Louisa Hill Adams. He married Vilate Abplnalp on June 10, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a life-long resident of Layton. He graduated from Oi'den High School and attended the University Uni-versity of Utah. He was a member of the Laytoi 17th LDS Ward and had served ar; LDS mission to the Eastern States. He was a former member of the Layton Kiwanis Club and a charter member of the Layton Rotary Club. He was a member of the Davis County Sheriffs Posse for 10 years. Mr. Adams was a board member of the Davis County Senior citizens and president of the Layton Senior Citizens Golden Harvest Club. He had served as watermaster for the Adams and Sill Ditch for 10 years. A farmer and stockman Omost of his life, he was active in politics and served as the Davis County Democratic chairman for several years. Surviving are his widow of Layton, one son and two daughters, daugh-ters, Richard R. Adams and Carol Weidauer, both of Layton; Marilyn Brockbank, Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one V, i , - . Brock-bank. Dedication of the grave was by Richard R. Adams with interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gregory R. Adams, Steven D. Adams, Eric T. Evans, Dr. Jack Rampton, John Alder, Pete Coleman, Johnny Dud-er Dud-er and Lowell Coleman. |
