Show Mj Chapter convenes The Oct. 21 meeting of the Sego Lily Chapter of the Daughters of , the American Revolution was held at the home of Erna Mae Hatcher of Farmington. THE MEETING began with Regent Re-gent Anita H. Davis leading the opening ritual assisted by Chaplain Wynona S. Sherman. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Elizabeth H. Hibler and Americans Creed led by Kathryn R. Hess. Regent Davis read the message from Pres. General Sarah M. King who reported that Nancy Davis Reagan, wife of President Reagan and Dr. Rhea Seddon, astronaut who orbited the earth, were both members of the NSDAR. PRES. GENERAL King also reported re-ported that the Climate Control project of Memorial Continental Hall and the Administration Building Build-ing was voted at the Continental Congress as an ongoing project. Secretary Mary J. Softeland read the National Defense Message Mes-sage on why SDI will help to create a safer world. It is a defense against ballistic missiles. Minutes of the Sept. 23 meeting were read. REGENT Davis announced that Darlene C. Law and Julie H. Webb were accepted into membership in the society in Washington, D.C. Oct. 11. Following the business portion of the meeting members went to the home of Mrs. Clair deLong, Farmington, which home is on the National Historical Society Register. Regis-ter. Mrs. deLong told of the re novation that went into this old Travelers Hotel and showed members mem-bers through this home, pointing out the antiques they acquired in Europe and America. Following the tour Mrs. deLong showed the group her prized gravestone rub-bins. rub-bins. REFRESHMENTS were served by Mrs. Hatcher and Secretary Softeland. The group will meet Nov. 18 and view a show on Halley's Comet at . the Hansen Planetarium. |
