Johnson, Davis County Sheriff has been named a member of the National Association of Counties (NACO) Justice and Public Pub-lic Safety Committee by NACO President Robert Aldemeyer from Kenton County, Kentucky. JOHNSON said he is extremely pleased to have the appointment. "I consider it an honor and am looking forward to serving," he said. NACO's 12 steering committees form the policy making arm of county government. Each committee commit-tee is composed of approximately 40 county officials who meet during dur-ing the year to examine issues critical cri-tical to local government. THEIR recommendations on 1 41 county legislative goals are presented pre-sented to the nation's county ofn-cials ofn-cials at NACO's annual confer- M ence. If approved, the recommen- ;j rcn dations become part of the Ama i l on ican County Platform, NACOi official policy document. Founded in 1935, NACO works to improve county government, to act as a national spokesman tor counties, to serve as a liaison be- . tween counties and other levels oi government, and to achieve a pun- lie understanding of the role oi counties in the federal system.
