| Show from the diary of a faithful contributor by GUESS WHO dear doc I 1 was over to monroe the other day and my old friend jim reynolds got to telling me about an experience ho he and his boy danny had with some bees recently of course doc you have never been stung by a bee so I 1 dont suppose you will vill understand the sensation that comes from contact with the business end of a bee who is seeking to make an impression on you scientists claim you cant fool a bee he wants something sweet so I 1 repeat I 1 dont suppose you have ever been stung by a bee however I 1 started to tell you what happened to jim reynolds jim told me that the other flay day a swarm of bees lit in one of the lower branches of a tree near his place and jim decided to capture and brand the swarm they were a nice little brown bee energetic and affectionate with a few of the characteristics of their cousins the yellow jackets and jim testifies further that several of them at least carried a kick like a missouri mule well anyway what I 1 started to tell you was that these bees lit in the tree jim got a box 0 or r a ladder or something like that and got his boy danny to get up an on there to saw off the limb jim assured dan that the bees sting him and that everything would bee alrig alright bt so dan was going to saw the limb through and hand it down gently with all the bees clustered on it to his father who was then goin ing to put them in the hive things were humming bumming along nicely and just as dan had the limb sawed through and was about to hand it down to jim who was standing looking up with his hands outstretched to take it a couple of the bees more irritable than the rest probably old bachelor bees kicked danny on the wrist and he promptly let go the limb with all the bees by that time somewhat disturbed which fell into jims outstretched arms from then on it etwas was every man for himself jim apparently was slightly in error when he told pap dan the bees sting |
