| Show LIONS will STRESS URH AT DISTRICT MEET delegation to pocatello plans to distribute literature the mater of sending se a good delegation to the district co iven tion to be held at pocatello idaho june 22 and 23 was the principal topic of discussion at the meeting of the richfield lions club last monday evening local representatives will be paul harward george peterson pet erson joe buys and F G martines it was decided to have literature printed for distribution at the convention in which strong attention will be called to the marvelous scenic attractions of southern utah the committee in charge of this work consists of joseph L asbury F G martines paul harward and spencer gibbs V M fairbanks presided at the meeting at the request of president guy lewis and the entertainment program was presented by W L warner this feature consisted of a number of well received hawaiian selections played on guitars mr warner sang aloha oe in the hawaiian language accompanied by the string instruments and the entire club joined in the chorus it was announced that W V L warner had been appointed b by governor dern dem as sevier county c chairman to help carry out the elaborate coveted covered wagon pageant to be presented in salt lake city july 23 24 and 25 among the other eleven members of the committee appointed to assist mr warner wamer are guy lewis and howard of th eliw lions leonz clui who are unanimously approved by the local lions J milton olsen reported that that section of the fish lake road lying within the forest preserve is is in bad condition and he was appointed by the club to confer with forestry officials to see if something could be done to im piove giove this before the opening of the fishing season next monday the following committee was appointed to arrange for a pep meeting of lions and probably y their ladies within a few weeks week s J M olsen W L warner wamer C R card W 0 cluff and M C ne nelson I 1 son it is planned to make this a rousing affair similar to the one held at tavern last ye year ar the program at the next regular meeting to be held june 22 will be in charge of J W stewart and the attendance prize will be donated by dr otto L anderson |
