| Show 0 SALINA I 1 by bv special correspondent I 1 0 0 man alan injured in fall george bird was seriously hurt thursday morning when lie felt fell upon a crowbar rov bar which penetrated his body about five inches mr bird was at fish lake working for I 1 N parker and was fixing some pipes in the basement of mr parkers home he was up on the side of the basement wall which is made of rock and used the rocks for a foot hold one foot slipped and he fell down on the crowbar which was beneath ichim him his feet did not touch the floor so he had to climb back up the wall before he could remove the crowbar he was rushed down to salina immediately and given medical attention he is getting along well and unless complications set in he be will be able to be up and about in a few weeks several auto accidents ray jensen a resident of salina was knocked down and sustained slight external injuries i saturday night about ten 0 clock when he stepped in front of max sens car mr jensen was crossing the street in front of the post office and he failed to see the car which was coming east on main alain street max tried to stop but was unable to do so before the car hit bit mr jensen luckily mr jensen fell to one side and the car did not run over him he was taken to the hospital for medical attention william gribble his wife and two children and his mother in law figured in an accident saturday night as did also fred and miss bliss dora the ile gribbles dribbles Grib bles were en route from ephraim to visit some of their relatives when a car ran into them about three miles north of axtell A worker jn in salina by name of glenn linnsen ran into the gribble faath n dora and fred Alic kelsen were run into by one of the liston listen boys saturday evening as they were driving down from gooseberry they rounded a turn and met the other car the occupants of the tw two 0 cars got off with a few cuts and bruises and the cars were smashed up somewhat salina team akgain victorious the ile salina base ball team was greatly elated sunday evening over winning the doubleheader double header played with their old arch enemy nephi always before nephi has been a stumbling block to the salina cubs a positive jinx 11 but this year the boys won the laurels twice in the same day from the northern team by scores of 15 9 and 93 9 3 after the genies games a meeting was held school at the B Y U returned home last week and will remain in salina throughout the summer miss marjorie curtis entertained at a party thursday evening for eight of her girl friends mr and mrs lewis larson and son don and mr and mrs airs william larson of salt lake spent the weekend in salina visiting at the homes of mr air and mrs ira and mrs hilda gates mrs roy colby has been in provo prove the past two weeks receiving treatment for tumors mrs colby fiby had been afflicted all the past winter but is improving now mr and mrs leon sorensen and family of los angeles spent last thursday in peterson was pleasantly surp surprised thursday afternoon when ten of her friends staged a party in honor of her birthday anniversary after a social afternoon a picnic lunch was served mrs G M burr mrs morse burr and miss bliss ardys burr went to mayfield friday evening A shower was given for mrs airs morse burr by her friends there A picnic outing party was enjoyed monday evening in salina canyon by mrs grace curtis mrs mis james reynolds mrs Melc melcolm ourn fenn mrs airs A W wilson misses lucille knight marie froyd arab ace wilson and chelliah Shel liah christensen E C wright made a trip to salt lake city friday morning to get his daughter miss shirley wright who had teen atte attending school at the U of U mr and mrs dean parks and four children will be residents of salina the home mr and mrs airs donald wentz and baby daughter beverly don left salina friday for frisco where they will ivill remain for some time the wentz family had bad been visiting mrs parents M mr and mrs bert jensen the past few weeks A number of the younger married set enjoyed a swim at monroe hot springs recently mr air and mrs airs arnold peterson mr air and mrs airs othello madsen mr air and mrs airs vern ivie ivic and mr air and mrs airs grant gates made up the party mrs airs robert of st george arrived in salina tuesday and has been visiting at the home of her parents mr air and lira airs marion christensen the misses pearl jensen jewel lavallia La zallia and maurine borg bell webb and mrs wayland mattsson went to monroe tuesday for a plunge party miss Willarc isen arranged the outing in honor of miss webb mr and mrs airs H C williams and daughters lajune and fonda ann went to salt lake city last week mr williams returned to salina friday but mrs airs williams william s and the girls went to magna alagna to visit mr air and mrs R A allen alien parents of mrs airs williams mr air and mrs james C jensen and daughter dorothy went to spring spring I 1 city saturday to attend a funeral they were accompanied compa nied on the trip by mr air and mrs N P I 1 mr and mrs airs E W petty and son kent recently returned from a ten days trip through the western part of the country the pet tys traveled several hundred miles each day and covered a great deal of territory stopping at places of interest where they visited relatives motored along the coast road to san francisco and as far as oregon they returned home by way of nevada they said they enjoyed the trip very much but utah looked good to them miss aliss pearl jensen was hostess at a well appointed four course dinner saturday evening at her home bome for some of her girl friends the misses lavallia La zallia and maurine borg jewel beryl de lange and arah lee wilsin were guests frank herbert was a business visitor in salt lake city the latter part of the week mrs george em ein of kansas city was in salina last week visiting at the home of mrs alice gates miss bliss lucille knight entertained the sewing club at her home wednesday evening refreshments were served after an evening spent in chatting and doing fancy work there were nine present among them two guests mrs airs don E wentz and miss hazel snow the salina first ward primary gave a childrens dance in the first ward chapel monday evening the purpose of the dano dance was to raise funds to send a delegate to the primary convention held this month
