Show Handcart Days Itun Planned A lO.lHK) kilometer run and a 32-tenm Softball toiiinnnient are among the Held event highlights high-lights as part of the annual Bountiful Handcart Days celebration. TIIK 10K run will start at 7 a.m. Saturday, July 23, from the grassy area located between be-tween Bountiful Junior High and the Utah National Guard Armory. The race route will weave through Bountiful, Woods Cross and Centerville before returning to the starting point for the finish. Registration for the road race will be at 6 a.m. There is a $5 registration fee to cover the costs of the race. STARTING Tuesday, July 19 will be the first round of a 32-team slow pitch softball tourney. "There are still some slots open for qualified learns," explained Neil Jenkins, Jenk-ins, tournament director. Finals for the tournament will be held on Monday, July 25, with the championship game to be played about 8 p.m. on the Bountiful City main diamond. di-amond. Some early round games will be played at Rocket Park. FURTIIKR information may be obtained by calling Jenkins at 298-6120. Races and games for children chil-dren will be held during (he day in city park near the booths and rides. AT NOON Saturday, July 23, Larry Baglcy, president, U.S. Sports Parachute Club, and several club members, will present a sky diving exhibition and will demonstrate their accuracy by attempting to land on second base of the city soft-ball soft-ball diamond. |
