Show FUNERAL SERVICES HELD EOR JOHN CARTER Funeral services were held Monday Mon-day at 2 o'clock p. m. at the North Ward chapel for John Carter, an early ear-ly pioneer who died last Friday morning morn-ing at his home in this city. Bishop H. C. Jacobs presiding. The ward choir was present and furnished appropriate ap-propriate music. Among the songs rendered were "Resting Now From Care and Sorrow," and "My Father Knows." The opening prayer was offered1 of-fered1 by Elder William Clos. The speakers were Elders L. C. Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, R. N. Bennett and Hans L. Lund, Pres. Lewis Anderson of the Manti Temple and Bishop Jacobs. Miss Tina Ericksen sang "I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go," and Miss Elida Staker sang "Face to Face." "Sometime "Some-time We'll Understand" was sung by Wilford and Emil Hafen, Goldie Neilson Neil-son and Elida Staker. The closing prayer was given by Elder Henry Hasler. A large number of friends and relatives rel-atives were in attendance at the services. serv-ices. Those who came here from other places were Bishop Samuel Allre'd, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Scho-! field, Marinus Lund, Mrs. Lavina, B. Rasmussen and John Frank Alfred, all of Spring City; President Lewis Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hou-gaard, Hou-gaard, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. David Shand, Peter Poulsen and son Wells, all of Manti; William and P. M. MeArthur of Mel-be, Mel-be, Ida., Authnel Carter of Helper, Utah, and J. L. Seely of Neslen, Utah. The grave was dedicated by Elder Bruce Seely. Many beautiful flowers flow-ers were given by friends and relatives. rela-tives. Mr. Carter has a host of grandchildren. |
