Show EPHRAIM PAVING STREETS... The city of Ephraim, this county, is the first city in country Utah to begin paving its streets. The au-touncement au-touncement has recently been made from there that it has bciai decided by those concerned that eight of he blocks along Main stroet in the business section will be paved (his year and that actual work will commence com-mence in the near future. It is understood that the paving will not cover the entire, street, but :hat only a strip of about twelve feet .11 width along each side will be covered at ihe present time with the paving. However, it is a splen-lid splen-lid improvement for a small country 'own to undertake and the. enterprising enterpris-ing inhabitants of that place are to be congratulated upon the spirit they are showing in undertaking it. The Enterprise has this to say of he progress of the work of construction construc-tion : "The work of laying concrete for Ihe sitae road along Main street will begin soon and it is planned to rush the project to completion. The rock crusher which is to h used In preparing material for the road arrived ar-rived this week and is being installed on A East street near the public school building. Men are now at work "spotting" rock along city creek, as only certain kinds of stone are suitable for this purpose. An this is the first road in the state to be constructed on the new plan it is attracting much attention on the part of road builders. There will be two cement driveways, and the space between be-tween will be raised and capped so that the street will be well drained. |
