Show In the list of officers elected by the Banker's Association of Utah which held its annual convention in Price last week, appears the name of F. C Jensen of Mt. Pleasant, who was elected vice president of the organization. organi-zation. Mr. Jensen held an important import-ant oflice last year in the Association. Governor Wm. Spry headed a party par-ty of atate officials that went south on Tuesday of this week to inspect the damage done by the recent disaster dis-aster at Hatchtown W. D. Cand-land Cand-land of this city, president, of the State Land Board, accompanied the party from here. The amount of damage done by the flood and the growing crops will be estimated and tentative plans probably discussed for rebuildingthe dam. The Manti Mesenger has the following fol-lowing to say of a young lady well known in this city, where she spent a number of years attending Wasatch Wa-satch Academy: "This week Miss Wrinifred Fitzhugh finishes her Freshman year in the W"estern College Col-lege for Women, Oxford, Ohio, and accepted a position in the office ol the treasurer of ' the institution. Thus it becomes possible for her to go right on with her college work next year, meanwhile continuing special spe-cial work in music also." Al. Pleasant at a time when, there was no town here but a few adobe buildings inside a rock wall, has been inthe town for several weeks, visiting relatives, ol whom he- has a number here, renewing renew-ing old acquaintances and familiarizing familiar-izing himself with what' few of the scenes of old times still remain. His home is now at Helper. He left on Tuesday of this week for Idaho where he hasnumerous friends and relatives and expects to spend some time with before returning to hit-home. hit-home. He was accompanied on the Idaho trip by Miss Velma Tidwell who goes also to visit relatives. |
