Show Presbyterian Church Will Hold j State Synod At Wasatch Academy I Wasatch Academy will be the scene of the 41st annual synod of Utah Prebyterian churches Tuseday, Aug. 30, it as announced this week. Chief topic of discussion will be the adaption in the state of Presbyterian church programs, It as stated. Approximately 100 representatives represent-atives of Utah Presbyterian churches will attend the synod, a yearly business and informational informa-tional conference. Among guest speakers at the three-day meeting will be four San Franciso church leaders: Dr. Richard H. Baird, western area represenatives, board of foreign missions; Rev. Robert Staley, board of Christian education edu-cation director of northern California Cali-fornia young people's work; Miss Ellanore Ewing, western area representative, board of national na-tional missions, and Dr. John M. Paxton, western area- rep r esentative, New Life movement. Opening business sessions Aug. 30 will follow services conducted by Dr. Paxton and Rev. W. Malcolm Gwaltney, First Presbyterian church minister min-ister in Salt Lake City and synod moderator. The four guest speakers and Mrs. Robert D. Steele will participate par-ticipate that evening in a visual aids demonstration. Sessions Aug. 31 will include reports on foreign and national missions and the New Life movement. |
