Show Fairview Church Notes Fairview South ward did their first bean canning of the season sea-son Thursday. The picking of the beans was under the supervision of Bishop Nellsen, R. J. Nielsen and Mrs. Edda Graham. The picking was done by the Aaronic Priesthood boys and LDS girls. Mrs. Ila Jensen had charge of the snapping snap-ping of the beans. Seventeen women did the canning at the welfare building build-ing under direction of the Relief Re-lief Society officers, who are: Mrs. Helen Bohne, Mrs. Dawn Madsen and Mrs. Clista Peterson. Peter-son. 700 cans were done that day. On July 25 at 6:00 a.m. a company of 104 LDS girls and boys of both Fairview wards started on a trip to Yellowstone National Park. The advisors for the trip were, South ward: Don Cox, Otis Neil-en, Neil-en, Ivan Cox, Mrs. Elizabeth Cox, Mrs. Delta Neilsen, Mrs. Dora Rigby, Mrs. Minta Clement, Clem-ent, Mrs. Merlin Madsen and Mrsr Erma Shepherd. North ward: S. V. Peterson,' Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Day, ' Mr. I and Mrs. Ira Garlick, Mr. and I . " r, . i v , - Mrs. Urban Bench and Mrs. Sev-erena Sev-erena Anderson. The first night was spent at fdaho Falls and on the morairw of the second day they visited Idaho Falls and the temple, and then went on to Yellowstone and camped at Old Faithful. While there they rented lodge cars and went to look at Grand canyon park, and there saw Upper Falls, Lower Falls, fishing fish-ing bridge, Morris basin and Paint Pots. On the third day they took a guide to Hot Springs and there they saw many different dif-ferent geysers and the Giant Grand Geysers erupted 230 feet while they were there. Friday they started home and the bus broke down at Warm Springs, 30 miles north of Rex-burg. Rex-burg. They spent the night there and then spent 3 days at Idaho Falls while the bus was being repaired. They camped at Souh park, close to the Zoo, race track and ball park. Before leaving they saw the reflection of the temple at night in the Snake river. Thev left for home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. The North ward Relief Society-elected Society-elected new officers. They are president, Lila Graham; first counse'or, Florence Day; second counselor, Lillian Brady; secretary, secre-tary, Maude Fowles. The retiring officers were: president, Ellen Peterson; first counselor, Maude Hartley; second sec-ond counselor, Lila Graham; secretary, Odessa Young. |
