Show Cotton Shift Up to December 13 there had been ginned 10,774,805 bales of cotton, which compares with 11,744,992 bales to the same date in 1942. It is interesting to note that Texas ginned 2,625,509 bales, or nearly one-fourth of the total. Mississippi ginned 1,766,515 bales and Arkansas 1,062,233 bales. Together these three states ginned more than half of the crop. South Carolina's 683,558, Georgia's 835,671 and North Carolina's Car-olina's 598,668 amount to less than one-fifth of the crop. |
