Show Fairview Man Passes Away Mr. Frans E. Nelson, 76, died at his home Monday morning following a lingering illness. Mr. Nelson was born October 6, 1867 in Orebro, Sweden, a son of Neil and Anna Nelson. After embracing the L. D. S. faith in their native land, his parents and family emigrated to America in 1878. He was ordained an Elder November 22, 1891, and was ordained or-dained a Seventy in 1905. He was presiding jMaer oi ine uin icen ward during the early period of that ward before joining the Fairview North ward. Mr. Nelson Nel-son was president of the Oak Creek Irrigation Company. Mr. Nelsorv married Mary E. Brady in the Manti Temple on December 19,1891. She died 31 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were the parents of nine children, the following sons and daughters survive him: F. E. Nelson, Jr., Basalt, Idaho; Mrs. Elizabeth Jones, Rupert, Idaho; Mrs. Anna Draper, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Belle Gurr, Springville; Mrs. A. B. Klein, Fairview; Herman R. Nelson, Nel-son, Provo; Samuel Nelson, Joseph Jos-eph Nelson and Eugene Nelson of Salt Lake City; 37 gandchil-dre gandchil-dre and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services for' Mr. Nelson were conducted in the Fairview North ward chapel Wednesday at 1 p. rri. with Bishop Golden D. Carlston officiating. An organ solo, "Nearer My God To Thee," was rendered by Mrs. Alta Osborne. Os-borne. The choir sang, "O My Father." The opening prayer was offered by Bishop Heber Mower. The choir sang, "Sometime We'll Understand." The first speakers were Hyrum Hansen and James T. Peterson. A vocal duet, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine," was sung by Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Cox, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Alta Osborne. The next speakers were J. T. Fowles and Thomas Rigby. The choir sang the closing song, "Love at Home." Lee Mower offered the closing prayer. Burial was in the City cemetery ceme-tery where William A. Bohne dedicated the grave. |
