Show Public Health Column Two cases of typhoid fever, reported re-ported from Salt Lake City and Washington County, and a case of undulant fever, occurring in Utah County, were the outstanding features fea-tures of the weekly communicable disease report released October 19th by Dr. Williaml M. McKay, Director of the Division of Communicable Disease Control, Utah State Board ei' Health. One of the typhoid cases, according accord-ing to Dr. McKay, is believed to have been contracted in Europe, snd the ether in Nevada. Because of the sporadic occurence of undulant fever cases over the State, Dr. McKay advises that all cows be tested for undulent fever. Tests will be made free of charge by the U. S. Government, he asserted, as-serted, and he urged that all per-s per-s ens owning cqws avail themselves of this service. Total cases of communicable disease dis-ease reported to the State Board of Health during the week ending October Oc-tober 14 numbered 91, which is a decrease cf 21 cases from the preceding pre-ceding week. The report shows surprisingly few cases of measles, mump, pneu-mcnia, pneu-mcnia, carlet fever and whooping rough. Two cases of trachoma were re-. re-. orted from the Indian Agency at Fort Duchesne. There were no new cases of diphtheria diph-theria cr smallpox for the week. |
