Show IfBATTLE Creek iW'" Just like I've always said, "you can't afford to under estimate the intelligence, strength or courage cour-age of a woman." He who does will wake up with two strikes on him, for the third out in the ninth timing with the score 10 to one for the opposition. This fact was reinforced last Friday when I read of a 20-year old Georgia gal who wrestled with a kidnapper for his gun; took the revolver away from him and shot him dead. 'Reports have it 'that the man threatened to kill the husband, assault the young mother and kidnap her child. All this was gxv ing a mite too far for the Southern South-ern heroine. So, she decided to do something about it. The perusal of the news item stimulated the thought that if the women had been running tilings in this country, we might not be in the disgusting mess in which we currently find ourselves. our-selves. Stupid strikes, organized gangsterism, gang-sterism, stifling taxes, governmental govern-mental waste and corruption, galloping gal-loping inflation, the cold war; lump them off or take them one at a time. All are the result of man's handiwork. The women, bless 'em, have had little to do with it. One of these days, the women are going to decide they have had enough. And when they do, sombody who is responsible is going go-ing to get smacked in the snoot. Give Jim Hoffa and his goons enough rope and before long they will price milk out of the mouths of the children of American mothers. moth-ers. When this actually happens, taking the "Fifth Amendment" won't help him much. When children cry for bread, which mothers haven't the money to buy and millions of bushels of wheat are rotting in government govern-ment warehouses, American mothers will begin to speak a language politicians can understand. under-stand. If women were in control of industry in-dustry and labor, would they precipitate pre-cipitate a crippling strike to cost 70 million a week in lost wages and 240 million dollars worth of . steel each seven days? No, women wo-men are too unselfish and practical prac-tical for that. If a woman were in charge in Russia, would she preach war today to-day and peace tomorrow out the same mouth, without realizing the tragedy of such dang-erous duplicity? dup-licity? You answer that one, it's easy. And so it is right down the line. Mother love, mother courage, willingness to sacrifice for the welfare of others, would change a lot of things, if only given a fair chance. Who knows, perhaps the egotistical ego-tistical and stupid male of the species will finally admit his blundering blun-dering weakness and at least listen lis-ten to someone who is smarter, braver, and uses more common sense. Such an expedient might save him 'from destroying himself; which at present he seems detenu de-tenu ined to do. So long 'til Thursday. |
