Show Carl Sjoberg Has Many Visitors on 90th Anniversary Family members and relatives and friends, church associates and others took time off on- Monday from their busy days to call on Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sjoberg and extend ex-tend good wishes and felicitations to Mr. Sjoberg on his 90th birthday birth-day anniversary. ' Among the many who called during the afternoon were the presidency of the Third Ward Relief Re-lief Society and later the Third Ward bishopric and their wives. . Mr. Sjoberg's children also gathered gath-ered at their father's side in a surprise party, bringing cheery spirits and refreshments for all those present. They were Alice Cunningham of Magna, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ruben and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sjoberg of Salt Lake City. Carl Sjoberg was born November Novem-ber 26, 1886 in Stockholm Sweden and came to America in 1900 with a sister, directly to Salt Lake City. There he met and married Ellen Okerlind in May, 1902 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and with her made a home in Salt Lake City and Murray and in 1903 came to Pleasant Grove, where he bought a farm and by hard honest a farm and he and his wife reared their four children. In 1945 they retired from the farm and moved to the home at 44 North Fourth East which they now occupy. Mr. Sjoberg has been a member of the LDS Church and is currently cur-rently a high priest in the Third Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Sjoberg have four living children, 40 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. On Thanksgiving Day Mr, and Mrs. Sjoberg were complimented guests at a turkey dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Huish. This event was in honor of Thanksgiving Thanks-giving and also Mr. Sjoberg's birthday. Enjoying the festive day besides Mr. and Mrs. Sjoberg were Mrs. Alice Cunningham, Magna; Mr. and Mrs. Aalph Ruben and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sjoberg, and their family and Mr. Sjoberg's Sjo-berg's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Anfrid Sjoberg of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Huish and family. |
