Show l, :j - 'rt 5 ? i YOUTHFUl TURKEY GROWERS COMPETE Bonnie Morgan, Layton, and her twin brothers Frank and Bob selecf their best birds for the Ninth Annual Utah Turkey Show, to be held in Salt Lake City, December 7 and 8. Over $1200.00 in prizes and trophies will be distributed to junior winners from FFA and 4-H clubs across the state. Junior Turkey Growers Will Compete at Ninth Annual Utah Turkey Show Dec. 7-8 Utah's junior turkey growers will have a chance to strut their gobblers and compete for $1,200 in prizes at the Ninth Annual Utah Turkey Show, Dec. 7 and 8 at the Newhouse Hotel. Transistor radios, cash prizes, special trophies and ribbons will be distributed to winners of the various classes, according to James Knight, Draper, show chairman. Some eighty boys and girls are entered in the competition, he said. Hundreds of turkey breeders, hatcherymen, and growers from Utah and the West are expected to attend the show and convention sessions. Heading the schedule of reports and discussions will be a progress report by faculty members mem-bers of the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural College on the sinovitus re- 1 search program they are conducting conduct-ing for the Utah Turkey industry. ' Construction and care of pole sheds, breeder hen reductions for 1957 and other timely subjects will be aired during the two convention conven-tion sessions. These meetings will be held at 2 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Mr. Knight said. He also indicated that entertainment entertain-ment will be in the offing for turkey growers and their families. A smorgasbord luncheon and auction auc-tion of champion birds will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday in honor of youthful competitors. Last year's auction drew bids as high as $20 per pound for the prize turkeys. Rolfe Peterson, radio wit, will be a feature attraction as emcee of a Saturday noon luncheon and fashion show to be held for members mem-bers of the Federation. The Annual Awards Banquet -at 7 p.m. will climax the two days of activity which will also have Included In-cluded election of new officers for the federation. William A.
