He listed his qualifications as follows: 1. No person ax to grind. 2. No relatives on the school payroll. 3. Concern for the "forgotten "for-gotten man" the one who pays the bills. 24 Years Ago John H. West, 75, who was bom in Pleasant Grove in 1857 and a resident since that time, died at his home here Tuesday. Two children child-ren survive him, Viola and Josephine Joseph-ine West, both of this city. 24 Years Ago The Town Board of Lindon are doing what they can to provide work for the unemployed. Town President Charles J. Cobbley is supervising the work of the men in making needed road repairs. 24 Years Ago: More than one-third of the students stu-dents and teachers are absent from the Pleasant Grove High School on account of the current flue epidemic. epi-demic. I 24 Years Ago Carl Smith, 7, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Smith of Manila, fell from a fence Friday morning while waiting wait-ing for the school bus and broke his right leg. |
