Show Lindon Locals Having undergone surgery a week ago Wednesday morning at Utah Valley Hospital, Mrs. James (Betty) Durrant is convalescing at her mother's home in Edgemont. Mrs. Durrant's mother is Mrs. Forest For-est Ferguson. On their way home to Ephraim Sunday after attending a missionary mission-ary farewell for their nephew in Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Valton Mor-tensen Mor-tensen and their children stopped to visit with their niece, Mrs. Bill Hunter and family. Thirteen couples attended the Elder's fireside held Sunday evening even-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mcrley Keetch. Harold Keetch presided over the meeting and Or-ville Or-ville Gunther of Lehi told of his trip to Germany. Refreshments were served after the program. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hooley, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Johnson, Mrs. Hel-ois Hel-ois Johnson, Mr. Reif Wadley and Mrs. Jennie Allred, shared dinner at an Orem came Saturday evening even-ing with Kenneth and Velma Gill-man Gill-man to celebrate their 20th wedding wed-ding anniversary which fell on Sunday. Following the dinner the group went to the Arnold Hooley's home where they played the game of "Yap" and reminesced. Mr. and Mrs. George H. (Peg) Taylor's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Grant K. Burnham of Salt Lake City, recently called for the Taylors and the two couples coup-les spent four days touring the southern part of Utah and California Cali-fornia and Nevada deserts. Driving through Death Valley they visited such spots of interest as Palm Orchard Oasis, the Great Salt Flats, Mule Team Borax Mine, the Sand Dunes, and Death Valley Scotty's Castle. After their regular meeting at the church house a week ago last Wednesday evening the Lindon Second Ward Chorister Class under un-der the direction of Audra Hooley, surprised Loma Glllman by serving serv-ing ice cream and cake in celebration celebra-tion of Loma's birthday. Besides Lorna and Mrs. Holley (who baked bak-ed the cake, nine girls were present pres-ent Leanne Hooley, Patsy Swen-son, Swen-son, Joyce Cullimore, Fay Bezzant, Norma Ruffell, Linda Larsen, Ne-ola Ne-ola Gillman, and Connie and Sally Johnson. Following the social with the girls, Lcrna was entertained at home by her family and two of her former school chums and their husbands, Donna Rae and Grant Gibson from Orem, and Gwen and LaVar Wilkinson from Pleasant Grove, who also presented her with o-i f f Q Lcrna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Gillman. Mrs. Don Pollman arrived home from Utah Valley Hospital last weekend where she had been receiving re-ceiving treatment for injuries received re-ceived in an automobile accident which occurred a week ago last Sunday evening on the Camp Williams Wil-liams road. Now in an improved condition, Mrs. Pollman suffered a dislocated shoulder, slight concussion, and multiple bruises. Her husband, who was driving the car was hospitalized hospital-ized for a day and night for removal re-moval of glass from his eyes. Their children, Edward Lloyd, Ray Dee, Donald Steven, and David Mack. ."11 at home, were treated for biiiis's at Lehi Hospital immediately immed-iately following the accident . The accident was Mr. Pollman's first, marring a 14-year perfect driving record. The Pollman's car. ! a total wreck, had been purchased j , only a week before the accident. 1 |
