Show Why Have a Year Around Air Conditioned Home Perhaps you 'have . always thought of "air conditioning" in terms of "cooling." The fact is that in heating or cooling air conditioning condi-tioning controls the air you live in. It controls the temperature the humidity and the movement of air. And we've got to contnol them all because they all effect the rate at which our body gives off heat, to maintain its normal temperature. tempera-ture. If any of these factors are out of balance, a tiny "thermostat" in your brain signals your heart, your peripheral blood vessels, your sweat glands, then, depending upon what's needed, your heart will either eith-er pump more or less blood, your surface blood vessels wall either dilate or constrict, and your sweat glands will react accordingly. Within a narrow range, that tiny "thermostat" does all this automatically, automa-tically, but once you get beyond that range you are warned by the sensation called "discomfort." And that is good, because "discomfort" "dis-comfort" plays a very important role in maintaining your health. Like pain, "discomfort" is a warning. warn-ing. So you put on your jacket, or pen a windjw, or turn on a fan, fr turn up the heat. Maybe you have come to accept this as a necessity. But actually you are suffering suf-fering your body to many stresses xnd s':.-'ns that it will not be subjected to in an a'r conditioned house, because as we have many Limes said --an air conditioned home can keep you comfortable by controlling the temperature, the humidity, the movement of the air we live in.
