Warnick, civic leadier, churchman, and former President of the American Dairy Association, will be one of four outstanding American citizens to be awarded honorary Doctor's Degrees at the BYU Commencement Exercises, Friday evening, May 31. Those receiving the honorary citations for noteworthy contributions contribu-tions to the American way of life as as follows: Mr. Warwick, Doctor of Public Service. Cecil B. DeMille, Motion picture producer, Doctor of Letters. Glen E. Nielson, president of Husky Oil Company, Doctor of Science. Dr. Ernest L. Wilkinson, BYU president and widely-known attorney, attor-ney, Doctor of Laws. Mr. DeMille will deliver the commencement com-mencement address on the subject of "Law, Liberty and Light." He has been a leader in the motion picture industry since 1913, when he directed the first feature-length film produced in Hollywood. Mr. Nielson, Cody, Wyoming, attended at-tended BYU previously and organized organ-ized the Husky Oil Company in 1937. He is also a member of the board of the Northern Natural Gas Company. Dr. Wilkinson, a native lof Og-den, Og-den, is a 1921 graduate of BYU and received his law degrees from George Washing'ton University and the Harvard Law School. He became nationally known as an attorney for the Ute Indians in judgments against the U.S. Government Gov-ernment totaling 13 million dollars. dol-lars. Mr. Warnick has long been active ac-tive in daily and farming circles in Utah. He helped organize the Utah Holstein-Friesian Association and served as its president for 15 years. He was president of the Utah Dairy Association for 16 years and served as president of the American Ameri-can Dairy Association for four years. |
