NEW BISHOPRIC New bishopric of the Fifth Ward are George Barton, 1st counselor; Bishop Hyrum E. Bradley, and Wayne Haddock, 2nd counselor. Standing are Dale Thomas and V. Clair Roundy, ward clerks. Special conference session Sunday evening was held to make the chang-e. Hyrym E. Iradley Is Sustained As Bishop of P. G. Fifth Ward Hyrum E. Bradley was sustained as the new Bishop of the Pleasant Grove Fiftli Ward at a special conference held last Sunday evening even-ing under the direction of Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos Stake President Boyd L. Fugal. Sustained at the same time were George F. Barton as First Counselor Coun-selor and Wayne Haddock as Second Sec-ond Counselor. Dale Thomas was sustained as Ward Clerk and V. Clair Roundy as assistant -ward clerk. Bishop Bradley succeeds Bishop Welby Gammon, who has served for two years as Bishop of the old First Ward and for three years as Bishop of the Fifth Ward. Bishop Gammon is moving to Orem in the near future. Also released with a vote of thanks were Counselors David Blackhurst and Eleroy H. West and Ward Clerks H. E. Bradley and Wayne Haddiock. Bishop Bradley has served as ward clerk prior to his new appointment ap-pointment being the first ward clerk of the new Fifth Ward. He has also served as superintendent of the Sunday Sohool, and in the superintendeney of the Timpanogos Stake Sunday School. He also is a ward teacher. x The new bishop has been active as a member of the Pleasant Grove Firemen for many years, and! as a member of the Pleasant Grove Lions Club of which he was president presi-dent in 1916-47. He also served as the secretary and director of the club. He is a member of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Got Chamber of Commerce and served as' Director for nine years, and for the past five years he has served as secretary-treasurer of that organization. He has been an. employee of the Utah Power and Light Co. for the past 30 years. He is local agent for the company at Pleasant Grove and has held this position for the past 20 years. His wife is the former Beulah Gundersen, whom he married in (Continued on page 6) Bradley Sustained (Continued from page 1) 1927. They have three children, Hyrum E. Bradley, Jr. of Bountiful; Bounti-ful; Mrs. Gilbert (Jerry) Cook of Bell, California; -and Clifford R. Bradley, now serving a mission for the church at Norway; and five grandchildren. Mr. Barton has served as superintendent super-intendent of the Sunday School; president of the MIA, secretary of the ward 70's quorum and in the presidency of the ward genealogical genealogic-al committee, and as a Sunday School teacher. His wife is the former Orlean Brown, and they have five ohildnen and four grandchildren. grand-children. Wayne Haddock 'has served in the Superintendency of the MIA, activity counselor of the MIA for the past two years; assistant ward clerk for two years, and as a ward teacher, and ward teacheir supervisor super-visor for 18 months. He is married to the former Frances Wheeler. Mr. Thomas has filled an LDS mission, has been superintendent of the Sunday School, president of the Elders Quorum and active in auxiliaries of the ward. He is married mar-ried to the former Carol Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and the couple have two children. Mr. Roiundy has served as financial fin-ancial clerk for four years at Lake View Ward. |
