Show 24 YEARS In the Review From the Files of the Review Friday, May 26, 1933 Ward S. Clark 'and Ralph S. OI-pin OI-pin have been approved by the University Council and will be graduated from the BYU on June 7. Both will receive B.S. degrees from the school of business. 24 Years Ago New officers were installed for the Mothers Club at ceremonies conducted at Keeley's Cafe, Pitovo last Tuesday. They are, Mrs. Mary Hill, president; Mrs. Martha Jones, vice president and Mrs. Ilene Beck, secret ary treasu i-er. 24 Years Ago Pleasant Grove won the opening game of the Central Utah League last Saturday. They beat Heber 7-5. Rus Jacobs and Tim Richards did the pitching for the locals. 24 Years Ago Attorney George W. Wcirthen, Provo, will be the guest speaker at the Memorial Sei'vices at the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Cemeteiy next Tuesday. The High School Band under the direction of E. A. Beck will furnish furn-ish music. 24 Years ggo Thieves entered the C. R. Clark Store Sunday evening through a rear window. Thirteen 100-lb. bags of sug-ar, 11 cases of oranges and other merchandise were taken. No clues have been noted by officers to date. 24 Years Ago Due to cold rainy weather, the annual Strawberry Day celebration has been postponed until June 21. The delay has been necessary since the ripening of the strawberries is later this year. 24 Yeais Ago Miss Genevieve Fugal received a gold wrist watch as a special award in the competitive play at BYU last Wednesday. In addition she was selected as president of the Mask Club for the 1933-34 college col-lege year. 24 Years Ago At. a meeting of members of the original Pleasant Grove Lions Club, a decision was reached to withdnaw from Lions International. It was then decided to foim a new civic group. The name selected was "Grovonian Club." Clarence S. Hill was elected president, J. O. Clark, vice president and Lyean Johnson, secretary. |
