Show i 4 " i MARON O. OVESON . . . New UP&L local agent New Local Agent For UP&L Co. Named for P. G. Maron O. Oveson, Utah Power and Light Company working foreman fore-man at Price, has been promoted to local agent at Pleasant Grove, according to J. iNewell Stephens, UP&L division manager at American Amer-ican Fork. Mr. Oveson succeeds Hyrum E. Bradley, who recently was promoted pro-moted to district representative at , Santaquin. Mr. Oveson, a native of Castle Dale, Utah, has been associated with the utility for 22 years. He started with the company as an office clerk at Castle Dale. Following Fol-lowing service in World War II he returned to the company and became be-came an apprentice lineman. In 1948 he became a journeyman lineman line-man and served in that capacity until 1955 when he became working work-ing foreman. In 1957 Mr. Oveson was one of four to receive the national Claude L. Matthews Award for Valor. The award honors "aots of devotion to duty by electric utility company employees which call for extraordinary extra-ordinary courage in efforts to maintain important electric service ser-vice or to restore such service in the shortest possible 'time." Mr. Oveson is active in church and civic affairs. At the present time he is president of the Piice Lions Club. Mr. Oveson will assume his duties du-ties in Pleasant Grove Sept. 26. |
