Show Registration Days Set for Central Utah Vocational Registration for Day School at Central Utah Vocational School will be Sept. 1 through 13 for veterans vet-erans and September 10 and 13 for non-veterans and high school students stu-dents according to Reed R. Allen, chairman of the day school. The purpose of the day school is to provide trade preparatory or pre-apprentice pre-apprentice training in skilled and semi-skilled crafts. The courses are designed to develop abilities, understanding under-standing attitudes, working habits and appreciations, and to impart knowledge and information needed by workers to enter into and make progress in employment on a useful use-ful and productive basis. The courses offered in trade preparatory prepara-tory training are designed to 1, Serve the youth of the community; 2. to assist those adults needing re-adjustment or training to meet new industrial conditions; and 3. to contribute to the welfare of industry in-dustry in the Central Utah area. Although the courses are generally gen-erally organized on a two-year basis, a student may take any unit or combination of units to attain a definite training objective. Courses offered in the day school are auto body and fender; diesel mechanics, auto mechanics, industrial indus-trial electricity, refrigeration and air conditioning, radio, television and electronics, farm mechanics, forging, industrial mechanics and machine shop, practical nursing, trade exploratory, vocational agriculture, agri-culture, vocational business, welding weld-ing and wood trades. Registration is open to all who can benefit by the training-. High school graduates who want to learn an occupation are encouraged to enroll. |
