Show Reception Honors Barbara Lyn West Tuesday Evening One of the summers fine classic social events took place on Tuesday Tues-day evening, August 24, when Mr. and Mrs. Eleroy R. West, entertained enter-tained at a wedding reception honoring hon-oring their daughter Barbara Lyn, and Gary Carlson, who were married mar-ried earlier in the day, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Gorgeous Gladioli, were used throughout the rooms, with candle light gleaming warmly over all, in the garden where small lamps centered the serving tables, and soft music pervaded the cool night air. The bride was singularly charming charm-ing in a fitted model of Nylon over White Satin. Her sheer fingertip veil fell from a unique bonnet of matching material. She carried a bridal bouquet of white carnations and stephonitos, tied with narrow satin streamers. Her attendants were her sisters Mrs. Glen Durrant, Mrs. John Barton and Mrs. Eleroy H. West. All wore identical gowns of rose tafetta accented with corsages of roses. Little Jackie West, clad in a ruffled pink formal was flower girl. Reginald Carlson assumed best man duties for his brother. The brides mother wore a gown of French blue while Mrs. Carlson Carl-son chose a rose color. Both pinned on corsages of Glamelia. Mr. and Mrs. West were assisted in receiving by the grooms mother and Miss Margaret Hayes. At the guest book was Miss Eva-da Eva-da Bitter. Arranging the unusual gift display were Bonnie Scarlet, Dawn Sandberg, and Pauline Var-aia. Var-aia. Serving were Doris Peterson, Eloise Adamson, Marilyn Hrier-son, Hrier-son, Evalyn Larson and Carole Walker. Accompanying the young couple and witnessing the impressive ceremony, performed by Clifford E. Young Assistant to the Twelve, were the bride's mother, and the groom's mother, and Mr. and Mrs. John Orme, Mr. and Mrs. Regionald Carlson and Mr. and Mrs. Eleroy H. West. One of the very lovely things received by the bride was a telegram tele-gram of congratulations from relatives in Ireland, signed "Your Irish Relatives". The newly weds left Thursday for a short visit in California, after which they will go to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where Mr. Carlson is stationed. |
