Show i Sewer Problem Meeting Set For Monday A special committee of the City Council spent last Monday evening with the difficult problem of determining de-termining a fair and equitable basis under which future Sewer line extensions will be inn, provided pro-vided the Sewer Project is approved. approv-ed. Inasmuch as all of the citizens will be asked to vote some General Obligation Bonds, the City Council thinks that it should determine at this time, the basis on which Sewer service in future years is brought to those homes which are not included in-cluded in the initial Sewer area. Several property owners outside of the sewer area, have expressed themselves to the effect that they should receive sewer connections when their area is built up in the future on the same low cost basis as is now being arranged for property prop-erty owners in the original sewer area. The City Council has been advised ad-vised that it can lay down these rules now and by agreement with the bond holders, the future city administrations will be bound by them. In its desire to work out an arrangement which will be fair and equitable to those property owners who will not be included in the original sewer area, the city council coun-cil is inviting a number of representative repres-entative citizens who own property outside of the initial sewer area to meet with the city council at a special meeting called for next Monday at 8 p.m. j The council hopes to benefit by the advise and suggestions of this group and to thus be able to work out definite stipulations for future line extensions before a bond election elec-tion is called. Several related matters are on the agenda, such as the connection fees for apartments and multiple dwelling units and for industrial plants and business houses. There is also the question as to whether the City should undertake to install in-stall stub lines to vacant property while the sewer construction is underway, un-derway, so as to prevent the serious ser-ious inconvenience to the public when new houses are built in the future and sewer service is needed. |
