PEP CLUB Pleasant Grove High School's Pep Club, under the direction of faculty advisors, the Misses Ellen Walker and Laura Banner, met Thursday to choose their officers for the coming year. The new executives are: President, Presi-dent, Helen Henrlchsen; secretary, Kathleen West. Committee members for the costumes are Lona Walker an dLeah Jean Swenson. Vlqueens retained for this year's activities are: Eava Richardson, Ruth Hoolcy, Jewell Paul, June West, Kathleen West, Helen Henrlchsen, Hen-rlchsen, Maxine Fryer, Madge Walker, Walk-er, Lu Jean Olpln, Elda Clark, and Lois Hoolcy. BAND The Pleasant Grove high school Band, and their director, Irwin Jensen, Jen-sen, was among the bands invited to give a concert at the State Fair, ! September 19. In spite of the rain, the members I j OPENING DANCE "Get acquainted" was the theme of the opening dance held Friday, September 27, under the direction of the student body council. In spite of the rain, and the fact that the girls were compelled to get ready for their dates by candlelight, the dance was a great success. Everyone took the suggestion of the theme and became acquainted, dancing danc-ing to the strains of Howard Nelson's Nel-son's Orchestra. SENIOR G. A. A. Members of the Senior High Girls' Athletic Association enjoyed a party par-ty at Canyon Glen, Monday night, September 24. A game of baseball, played between old and new members, mem-bers, worked up a hearty appetite for the delicious lunch that followed. follow-ed. Forest Cullimore, and Maurine Lim: Lois Hooley, Tyler ! Rogers, and Elda Clark, j They were judged on their rhy-; rhy-; thm. pep. and spirit by Mrs. Hla Swenson and Howard Paxman. Those chosen were Leah Wadley. ; Karvey Christensen and Virsrinia ' Ellis. Maxine Fryer. RING COMMITTEE Hie committee of four who were selected by the senior class officers to choose the 1941 class rings are: Chairman, Louise Green; assistants Roy Harper, Margaret Atwood, and Leslie Neves. Roy Harper, Leslie Neves. reported that they enjoyed the bus ride, and the fair exhibits. Monday. September 23. officers chosen for the band were: President, Presi-dent, Forrest. PEP RALLY As a preliminary to the football game with Lincoln, a pep rally was held on the campus the last half of the sixth period Thursday. The entire en-tire student- body turned out en-musse en-musse and assured the football boys of their support. With vim. vigor, and vitality the newly organized Pep club and cheer leaders gave evidence of the type of spirit expected during the coming year. Helen Henrichsen. FACULTY In faculty meeting Tuesday. Fifty little Raggedy Anns, with their hair in rags and their dresses on backwards, were initiated into the Junior High Girls' Athletic ac-sociation ac-sociation Wednesday. September 24. During the day the association presented an assembly, and a dance and party for the new members.
