Show o H. S. Auditorium Gets Improvements By Leland Baxter A very beneficial and much needed need-ed improvement in the Pleasant Grove high school was completed recently. This improvement was the repainting and replastering of the auditorium to improve the appearance appear-ance and acoustic properties. All the woodwork and the designs around the stage , were repainted with harmonious colors. The walls of the auditorium were plastered with a new, modern acoustip plaster. To make this improvement an appropriation ap-propriation of $600 was made by the school board. J This project which was started on August 26, has been needed for some time. At the time the auditorium was built in 1921, some columns were left protruding about four -inches from the walls. These catight sound waves and echoed them, thus making mak-ing the acoustic properties of the hall very bad, especially in the rear. The new plaster is flush all the way around the room with no parts protruding. pro-truding. This makes the acoustic properties of the auditorium at least on a par, if not better than any auditorium in the district. o |
