ASSEMBLY A group of blind students and teachers from Salt Lake and Provo gave one of the most interesting assembly as-sembly programs Thursday, that the student body has ever had. Mr. Murray B. Allan of Salt Lake, head of the Institution for-the-Blind was in charge. Musical numbers given were, accordion solo, Mr. Kendall; vocal solo, Mr. Jacobs; guitar and Spanish vocal numbers, Mr. Jose Pecho; musical saw, Mr. Jeffrey. The closing number was an inspiring inspir-ing talk given by Mr. Allan on "Overcoming Obstacles." He told the students that everyone in some way or another is handicapped, and it is through over coming these handicaps that worth-while men and women of today are made. Maxine Fryer. NEW STUDENTS Students of Pleasant Grove high school welcome the fifteen new members who have enrolled this year, and hope they find our school as educational and interesting as the ones they previously attended. Those enrolled in the senior class are: Helen F. Burke, Palson, Mon- tana; Venice Jacob, Provo; Darwin Taylor, Castleford, Idaho; and Carol Turner, Hurricane. In the eleventh grade are, Ward Burke, Palson, Montana; Max Hourz, Wasatch; and Leon Thorne, Bryant Junior High. In the Tenth grade is Russell Fau-tin, Fau-tin, Elsinore. The Junior High en-rollees en-rollees are: Burlin Bates, Bret Harte Junior High, Los Angeles; Verlaine Brewer, American Fork; Leora Brown, Grand Junction, Colorado; Mary Laughney, Logan; Billie Mae Smith, Palson Junior High, Montana; Mon-tana; Betty Jeanne Thorne, Bryant; and Jimmy Simper. Lois Hooley. SEMINARY TRIP Senior class of the Timpanogos Stake Seminary, under the supervision super-vision of William C. Smith, had the privilege of taking an interesting and educational trip to Salt Lake City, Sunday, September 22. The class is to study during the year tne cults and creeds ot clitter-ent clitter-ent churches and they desired information in-formation in order to have a background back-ground for their study. STUDENT COUNCIL On Tuesday. September 17, the j first meeting of the Student Council was held. Plans for the school stationery and yell books were made, and the members studied the budget to some extent. Members of the council are: Kenneth Ken-neth Wright.
