IXITATION All tenth grade girls of the PleasantGrove High School were made members of the Girls' Athletic Ath-letic Association Wednesday, Nov. letic Asociation Wednesday, November Nov-ember 4. Their initation consisted of wearing black stockings rolled just above the knees, old dresses that came just above the stockings, stock-ings, shoes that were too large and weren't mates and old felt hats. An asembly was given in honor of the G. A. A. the last period. SENIOR HOP The Pleasant Grove High School Senior Hop the theme of which is "Anchor's Aweigh" will be held in the High School Gym Friday, Nov. 6th. Wayme Skeem and his orchestra will furnish the music and the admission ad-mission price is 85c per couple. VIKINGS DEFEATED The Pleasant Grove Vikings were defeated Friday October 30 by the fighting Tigers of Lincoln High School. The score was 13 to 7. The Vikings put up a very good fight throughout -the game. They led 7 to 6 until late in the fourth quarter, quar-ter, when Recha of Lincoln made a very nice run to the five yard line being downed by Lloyd Walker of the Vikings. The Tigers then came through with a touch down and extra ex-tra point to defeat the Pleasant Grove team. The Vikings play Payson on the Payson field this Fridav. ana are expecteing a very hard battle. DR WIRT SPEAKS IN ASSEMBLY Have you any adventure in your soul '. Do you want danger and excitement? If these things do appeal ap-peal to you then "Go North, Young Man, Go North." This was the advice of Dr. Loyal Lincoln Wirt Monday, Nov. 2 when he spoke to the student body of the Junior and Senior High School schools. Dr. Wirt gave us an example of success and how U g-ain it. His formula was "Do the best you can, and a little more." He told how he had a hospital in one of Alaska's mining towns. Then during the long winter nights he had to cross an unchartered part of the country to get medicine, food and upplies for a distressed mining camp. Failure of his magnetic compass to work properly proper-ly at this latitude forced him to use the North Star as his only means of determinig his irection. THE SCHOOL PLAY The tryouts for the school play were held Tuesday, October 27. The play is "American Family" by Robert St. Clair. The eighth grade has just completed com-pleted the breakfast unit, where they have prepared and served several sev-eral familv brakfasts at various costs. The seventh grade girls have new anrons and look very attractive. attrac-tive. Thev are busy making doll clothes for Christmas presents.
