Show With U. S. Fighting Men in New Guinea There is no timber in New Guinea, and so, when it comes to building, the American soldiers learn a trick or two from the natives near Port Moresby. Before the grass thatch is put on, the beams are securely tied with strips of bark which the natives are shown peeling. In the background back-ground the framework of one house is all but completed. Little forks that two of the natives wear in their hair are solely for pleasure the pleasure of scratching. |
