Show FUNERAL HELD FRIDAY FOR PAUL NEWMAN Impressive funeral rites for Paul W. Newman were held Friday Oct. 30, in the third ward chapel. The services under the direction of the third ward bishopric, was conducted by Bishop Joseph S. Walker, and opened with a violin solo, "On Wings Of Song" by Miss Marilyn Richards, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Neves. Invocation was asked by Fred Scholes of the bishopric. This was followed by a vocal duet, "Sometime "Some-time We'll Understand" by Mrs. Ethel W. Carlson and Mrs. Leone N. Told, accompanied by Mrs. Neves. The fisrt speakers was Bishop C. R. Clark, who expressed sympathy sympa-thy for and paid tribute to the Newman faimily. J. C. Hilton chose to speak of the faith and comfort of living the gospel. He closed his remarks by reading, "0 My Father." In the closing remarks Bishop J. S. Walker paid a fine tribute to the departed and his brothers, two of whom are serving in the armed forces of the country. The closing number was a vocal solo "One Fleting Hour" sung by Mrs. Avis F. West, accompanied by Mrs. Neves. Benediction was pronounced by Lewis Olpin. Organ prelude was played by Mrs. Mary Neves. Interment took place in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, wliere Joseph Adams offered the dedicatory dedicat-ory prayer. I'all bearers included: Clyde Newman, New-man, Glen Newman, Gene Neilson, Delbert Sykes, John Williamson, and Earl Park. Mr. Newman a son of Mr. and Mar. John Newman, died last week at the Amercan Fork hospital of acute pneumonia. |
