Show Utah County Rifle Shoot at Saratoga Sunday The Provo Union Pacific Rifle iclub members took the team cham-;pion?hip cham-;pion?hip honors again at the Utah j county rifle shoot conducted at Sar-i Sar-i atcga Sunday forenoon. They totaled 1 1950 points, 14 more than their whirling whi-rling score last yen" i Reed Colvin, consistent Provo shooter, dropped only three points out of a possible 400 to garner indi-I indi-I vidua! honors. E. Nelson, also of the U. P. club, won last year with a score of 339, eight points fewer than Colvin's score. Sixty marksmen, representing six Utah county clubs, participated in the Saratoga shoot. The Lehi club, with J. G. Whipple, president, Stanley Stan-ley Taylor, secretary and Ernest Lar-sen, Lar-sen, range officer, was in charge of the meet. Visiting unaffiliated men included H. C. Nelson, W. J. Patterson and T. C. Masas, all of Salt Lake City and K. Nordeen of Provo. Two feminine femin-ine marksmen competed, Mrs. E. H. Smith of Provo and Pearl Hansen of Goshen. Team scores were as follows: Pro-ivo Pro-ivo V. P. 1950; Goshen 1920; Pay-son Pay-son 1919; Lehi 1916; Provo Post-1395; Post-1395; American Fork 1881. The five high individual scorers were Reed Colvin, 397; C. Anderson, Provo U. P., 391; A. S. Conk, Pay-son, Pay-son, 390; R. Rita, Provo U. P., :139; R. Hansen, Goshen, 389. |
