Show t-irsc and imra i. isoing ilaiiowe'eii Farcies i Hallowe'en will be celebrated in festive style the early part of the coming week by both the First and Third wards. Both the entertain, ments are on the year's schedule of activities, and are under the auspices ! of the ward M. I. A.'s The First w-ard's celebration will be Monday evening, October 28, in the Alpine Stake Ta,bernacle basement and will be in the form of a Hallowe'en Costume Cos-tume Carnival, while the Third ward's entertainment will take place Tuesday evening in the New Gym fol lowing the regular Mutual class work at the chapel. It will also be a costume dance. The First ward's Costume Carnival Carni-val commences at 9 p. m. on Monday and not only First Warders are invited, in-vited, but the general public is extended ex-tended an invitation to join in the frolic. Ward members with activity cards will be admitted free, while others will be charged a small admission ad-mission fee to 'defray the extra expenses. ex-penses. The hall will be appropriately decorated suggestive of the occasion and refreshments will be available at gay booths. Prizes will be given for the best costumes, and prizes will also be given during special novelty dances which, have been arranged ar-ranged for the affair. A short musical program featuring featur-ing "Tabby and Bun" will also be given during the evening. Fun for everyone is planned, and everyone is invited to be present and participate partici-pate in the carnival attractions. The Third ward is giving prizes for the best costumed at their dance on Tuesday night. I Booths will be a feature of their decorations, from which delicious eatables can be obtained. A program will also be given during the even, ing. The children of the ward under 15 years of age will be entertained in the afternoon at the ward chapel with a program and dance. The public is also invited to participate par-ticipate in the Third Ward's fun. The Second and Fourth Ward Mutuals held their Hallowe'en parties par-ties this week, and both were big successes. The Second ward's was in the form of a program; and dance and was held Tuesday evening in the Tabernacle basement following the regular M. I. A. exercises. A special "spook" room (was equipped to supply thrills for the crowrd, and a fortune-telling booth and refreshment stand added much to the fun of the party. There was a large attendance', including .many from the other wards. The Fourth ward's social was held Thurday evening in their ward chapel. chap-el. Corn, autumn leaves, pumpkins, Indian wigwams made of corn, fall flowers and cat-tails were employed in the decorating scheme. Everyone was in costume, and a real "thrill" and "chill" evening was reported- In addition to the following splendid splen-did program, fish ponds were an added attraction and a number of stunts, games and pranks were played play-ed during the evening: addresses of welcome; community singing; Ire-marks, Ire-marks, Bishop Lot Robinson; harmonica har-monica band, Gleaner Girls; fancy 'dance, Junior Girls; kitchen band, M Men; corn husking and shelling1 race; song, Boy Scouts; wood sawing j contest; stunt, Van Guards; picture' "Life's Other Side," Thomas Cod-dington.
