Show o 55 ENROLLED FOE KINDER- GABTEN: OPEN TO MOEE Fifty-five kiddles between 5 and 6 years of age are enrolled for the Kindergarten course being conducted conduct-ed in this city. According to recent announcements from those In charge, the classes are open to more children. child-ren. Mothers are urged to take advantage ad-vantage of this opportunity. A visit to the Kindergarten class rooms at the Harrington Building shows that not only a competent instructor in-structor is evident, but a perfect child's "garden" as well. Something new is taken up .each day. A general work period, out door play, lunch (and here they learn the first rudiments rudi-ments of good behavior, etiquette, tidinesg and cleanliness), rest period, group discussion, music appreciation, rhythmical activity and singing, varied activities and preparation for dismissal. The important feature to be stressed stress-ed during Kindergarten work Is regular attendance. If a child misses one day, he misses the first steps in possibly clay modling or some other phase of work. The little toy band is to be a feature feat-ure during the next few weeks. Parents Par-ents are asked to co-operate with the instructor in supplying their child with a little triangle, tambourine, symhals, gong, whistles or bells. The Kindergarten is a link between be-tween the home and school. It leads the little child from home interests! to wider social interests. It fosters healthy bodies, alert minds, skilled eyps and hands, ability to work with others, and so lays the basis f"r school work. It your child isn't enrolled, enroll ; him now. |
