Show City Council Passes On Items of Business j The Pleasant Grove city council convened in regular session Saturday with Mayor F. B. Newman in charge. All members were present except Councilman Linebacgh who was excused. ex-cused. Mayor Newman read a communication communica-tion from Attorney Thurman, relative to the Clark case in which he stated that it was his opinion that if Mr. Clark had at any time a claim against the city on account of lowering sidewalk side-walk grade in front of the Clark property, prop-erty, he is now precluded from assert- ing such claim, due to his delay in commencing action at an earlier date. The petition presented by Recorder Record-er Newman, for Mrs. John West to have a certain cemetery lot re-deeded to Mrs. Ethel West, was granted subject sub-ject to the necessary papers being properly executed. Chairman Lim, of Waterworks, reported re-ported the work at the headhouse at the mouth of Battle Creek canyon iomplete, also that all the wood pipe cleared off the streets. Chairman Moore, of City Property, reported the city well on the county road had been cut off from crossing the road and entering the W. D. West property. He also reported that the north and west roads at the cemetery had been graveled at a cost of less than $50.00. In the matter of sending statements state-ments to those persons whose cemetery ceme-tery lots have been cleaned by the city, Mr. Moore was empowered by a motion made by Cooncilman Bezzant, to purchase the necessary statement blanks and have them mailed out. Chairman Bezzant of the Streets committee, reported culverts installed as ordered. By a motion made by Counlilman Dickerson, Chairman Bezzant Bez-zant was authorized to employ teams to haul gravel from the ball park to depot. Relative to merchants still delinquent delin-quent in their licences, the marshal was instructed by a motion of the council, to close all places of business not having paid their licenses by June 10th. The petition of the TJ. P. R. R. Co. asking the city to revise the city ordinance or-dinance allowing them a speed limit of 30 miles instead of 8 miles, was granted by a motion made by Councilman Council-man Bezzant, provided the R. R. Co. assume cost of revision. ; Councilman Dickerson was instructed instruct-ed tec arrange for a car to be used for the city council float, all members of council to assist in decorating. Chairman Moore of City Property was authorized by a motion made by Councilman Bezzant to proceed to have set up, the card account system for the city cemetery. |
