Show $1050 In Prizes To Go To Towns Of Utah County For Community Fair Exhibits A prize list of $3820 for the three-day three-day Utah County Fair September 7, 8 and 9 is revealed in the premium lists released this week. About $1050 of this prize money will go to the community exhibits, with 14 towns of the county competing for the awards. The premium book came off the press of the Alpine Publishing company, com-pany, Wednesday of last week, and was being distributed by Manager Seth T. Shaw of the County Fair. Six hundred twenty three individual indi-vidual awards are listed in the premium book, making the average prize almost $2. Professor Seth T. Shaw, manager of the fair for the second year and head of the horticulture department at Brigham Young university, pointed point-ed out three major changes or innovations in-novations this year. Orem, perpetual per-petual winner of the class B. community com-munity exhibit prize, will this year compete with the class A cities, American Fork, Lehi, Payson, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, Provo, Spanish Fork s.nd SpringviUe. Spanish Fork won the class A prize last year, with Orem winning the B title. For the first time, pets will be recognized at the fair, being shown along with rabbits in the rabbit department. depart-ment. Vearl Johnson will be supervised super-vised of this department. The third change is in the horse pulling contest, con-test, where three classes instead of two will enable horses to enter. Only Utah county horses will be allowed to compete in all three classes. High class entertainment in the form of a rodeo, horse show the horse-pulling contests, and the carnival car-nival are promised by Professor Shaw and the fair board officers William J. Johnson, county commissioner commis-sioner and president, and Milton H Harrison, secretary-treasurer. Other members of the board are: Sylvan Clark, R. J. Murdock, S. R.
