Show QUOTA OF 400 FOR BOYS' STATE FILLED The quota of 400 for the Utah Boys' State, based upon one Boys' State member to every eleven members mem-bers of the American Legion is entirely en-tirely filled, according to Otto A. Wiesley, department commander of the American Legion. The Boys' State is a project of the American Legion in furtherance of its Americanism program, in which the Utah boys will be instructed in the functional aspects of citizenship through actual training in the camp. The boys in ten days will organize their own city, county and state governments, organize their own campaigns and conduct their own elections. The only object of the camp is training in citizenship. There will be no military training. The boys themselves, or their sponsors, will pay the actual maintenance main-tenance expense at camp for the ten days. The American Legion, department of Utah, will pay all organization or-ganization of the camp, a sum which represents the greatest investment of the American Legion in the future fu-ture of the state in the history of the state department. |
