Show Pleasant Grove Locals I Mrs. Burton H. Adams was a Salt Lake City visitor Wednesday. Mr. George W. Larsen, who has been seriously ill, is much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scholes were Logan visitors Sunday. Mary Lough-ney Lough-ney came back with them, for a visit here. " Mrs. W. C. Smith went to Snow-flake, Snow-flake, Arizona, to attend the funeral Sunday of her dear friend, Mrs. Jesse M. Smith. She returned Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Green have motored to Boise, Idaho, to visit their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Holley Myers. Mrs. Mary A. Smith is spending the summer with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Smith. Mr. and Mrs. W. Rumel Cragun and Mrs. Jenevieve Cragun and children visited Monday in Layton, and enjoyed an outing at Lagoon. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swenson of Huntington Park, California, have returned from Portland, Oregon, where they spent a week. They are visiting in Pleasant Grove before returning to the Coast. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Atwood Sunday were President Louise Y. Robinson of the Relief society general board, and President and Mrs. Edmund R. Cragun. Mrs. Theodore Eaton and baby son, Teddy, of Schenectady, New York, who have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burton H. Adams, left for the Pacific Coast Wednesday. Bishop and Mrs. Junius West and children Bobby and June spent four days in Northern Arizona and Southern Utah, over the week-end. Bishop West attended the Utah Bankers' association convention at North Rim, Grand Canyon. The party visited the Southern Utah national na-tional parks while on their trip. Mr. and Mrs. George N. Larsen and family of Kansas City elated their many friends and relatives with a surprise visit Wednesday morning. Mr. Larsen will spend only a week here, then he will leave for Chicago. Mrs. Larsen, who was formerly Nelda Davis of Lehi, and her daughters Nancy and Ann Jeanette, will enjoy a more extended visit. In honor of the fifth birthday anniversary an-niversary of little Nyla Mae Cragun, Mrs. Edmund R. Cragun entertained entertain-ed Thursday afternoon. The group enjoyed games, and refreshments were served. Invited guests were Dorlynn and Edmund Grant Cragun, Wanda, Francis, Irvin and Lois Richardson; Melba Kirk, Dawnetta, LaVell, Garn, Morris and Merlin Swenson. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jense and son Gary were Salt Lake City visitors visi-tors Wednesday. Carlyle Larsen of Garfield is spending Friday" and Saturday in Pleasant Grove at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Larsen. Mrs. Cynthia Olpin of Salt Lake City spent the past week in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove at the bedside of her father, George W. Larsen, who has been seriously ill. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Larsen enjoyed en-joyed a pleasant trip to Zion and Bryce canyons, over the week-end. They left here Friday returning Sunday after visiting the national parks. Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen are proudly announcing the birth, Sunday, Sun-day, June 18, of their second son. Mrs. Nielsen and baby are being cared for at the home of her mother, Mrs. M. S. Christiansen. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hilton left Saturday to spend a week in Jackson, Jack-son, Wyoming. There they will visit their son, Barney, who is a member of Howard Nelson's orchestra. Mrs. Mabell Jense attended the Utah county farm bureau and 4-H club outing held at Arrowhead resort, re-sort, Wednesday. More than 800 people were on hand for the day's activities. In honor of the birthday anniversary anniver-sary of Mrs. Mary Wright, a party was given Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Tyler of Provo. In attendance were Mrs. Oral Wright and Gordon Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Walker, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Wright. President Louise Y. Robinson of the general board of the Relief society so-ciety was guest of honor at a social following the Relief society meetings meet-ings in the Second ward chapel, Saturday night. The stake Relief society board entertained in her honor, a social hour and refreshments refresh-ments being the features of the social. Mrs. Elizabeth Bullock and Mrs. Vida Conway were in charge of the refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Clark of Sioux Falls, South Dakota are visiting visit-ing in Salt Lake City with Mrs. Clark's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Crittenden. Friday Fri-day the Clarks and Crittendens visited in Pleasant Grove, and the Anderson family organization entertained enter-tained for them at the ( home of Mrs. Matilda Christiansen. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Crittenden being cousins of the Andersons. Attending Attend-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson, An-derson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Anderson, An-derson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Richins, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Walker, Mrs. Pearl West, Mrs. Ruby Warnick and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Walker, and the guests of honor. Refreshments were served. |
