Show Holstein Cattle Native of a Holland District The native home of Holstein cattle is Holland; or, more correctly, the Netherlands, the provinces of Fries-land, Fries-land, Drcnthe, North Holland and South Holland being more representative repre-sentative of the dairy industry in that country. The name Holstein as applied to this breed of cattle, says a writer in the Cleveland Tlain Dealer, is really a mismomer, as it had no application in Holland, but referred to a small province in Germany, Ger-many, now Schleswig-Holstcin, between be-tween the Baltic and North seas, about n hundred miles east of the Holland boundary whore black and while Dutch cattle are found. The breed popularly known ns Ilolsloin originated with the ancient Friesland people and may more properly be called Friesian.
