Show Ten Years Ago Now (Taken from files of July 30, 1927) The throngs who attended the Pioneer Day celebration in American Ameri-can Fork, extending over Saturday and Sunday, proclaimed it to be one of the very best American Fork has ever staged, and at different times during the celebration the largest crowds American Fork has ever known were in our city. Ten Years Ago Now A deal has been made by the American Fork Co-op wherein the Dixon-Taylor-Russell Co. of Provo and six other towns in this district, has leased the east portion of the store building and will open their eighth store here. The deal was closed last week. The moving of the hardware department, etc., has already been started and work of putting the store building in condition condi-tion for the new concern will commence com-mence at once. Ten Years Ago Now The assessed valuation (including corporate property) in American Fork City for the year 1927 is $1,-554,230.00.- This information was given the council in a communication communica-tion from the County Auditor read at the regular session of the city council last Saturday night. It is upon this figure that the 1927 tax levy will be made. Ten Years Ago Now The Cavemen's 4 to 2 victory over Nephi at that place Wednesday gave our boys the fifth straight league victory in the second half and kept for them the top position in the contest. The contest looked bad for the locals up to the seventh but then our team bunched hits and forced over three runs. The final score of one more was made in the ninth. Nephi secured one run in the third and and another in the seventh. Our boys got a total of seven hits and Nephi ten. |
