Show Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Taylor were Mrs. Taylor's parents and brother, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Reese and R. Reese. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Taylor attended a business meeting of the Dixon-Taylor-Russell employees held in Provo Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller have purchased the Edson Rockwell place in the Fourth ward. The Millers moved in last Saturday and like their new surroundings very much. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Birch of Pleasant Grove have moved to American Amer-ican Fork, occupying the Parley Hansen, home on the corner of Center Cen-ter street and First south. Mr. and Mrs. Jed Mercer Jr., Mrs. A. A. Merrick and Eldon Draper motored to Salt Lake last Tuesday to visit with David Davis, who is in the U. S. Veterans hospital. They report little change in his condition. The Junior Literary club will meet next Monday night at the home of Mrs. Marion Green. An interesting program has been arranged with Mrs. Charles Walker in charge and all club members are urged to be present. Mr. and Mrs. Searle Zimmerman are rejoicing over the arrival of a fine baby boy, born Saturday, March 2. Mother and babe are in the Lehi hospital and both are getting along fine. Mrs. Zimmerman was formerly Miss Lillie Brems of this city. The M. I. A. officers of the Fourth ward presented the play "Lookin' Lovely" last Monday night to a full house. The "Gravel Scratchers" played special musical numbers and sang. The members of the Gravel ' Scratchers are: Cecil Cunningham, Jay Anderson, Oarl Ashton, George Pulley, LaVar Nelson, Wm. Pulley and Elmon Darling. The play is being presented in the Highland Ward Amusement hall tonight. Jack Berg Jr. was pleasantly surprised sur-prised on his birthday last Sunday when twenty-four of his friends call- j ed at his home. The evening was spent playing games after which Mrs. Berg, his mother, served a tasty lunch. Mrs. Harold Fox of Lehi was hostess hos-tess to the Lawata Club of this city last Friday afternoon, at her home. Bridge was the main diversion diver-sion of the afternoon, Mrs. Vem Chipman winning the club prize and Mrs. James Chadwick the guest favor. A delicious lunch was served at the small tables. Special guests present were Mesdames James Chadwick, Chad-wick, Kenneth E. Noyes, Rulon Nicholes Nich-oles and Culver Anderson. |
