Show Legion Auxiliary Elects Officers At a meeting of the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary Friday- night, officers offi-cers to serve for the coming year were elected. A short report on the accomplishments of the past year was also given. New officers were: President, Haydee, Iverson; First Vice-president, Priscilia Murdock; Second Vice-president, Lillie Beck; Secretary, Secre-tary, Florence Moss; Treasurer, Thel-ma Thel-ma Larson; Chaplain, Mable Mc-Niell; Mc-Niell; Historian, May Laursen; Color Col-or Bearers, Cora Barratt and Leah Hollindrake. During the past year the Auxiliary sponsored the play, "Sky High," an Armistice Day program, and a dance at the Apollo hall and the selling of a quilt for the raising of funds for social service, work. At Christmas Christ-mas time baskets of food and clothing cloth-ing were distributed to the families' of Legionaires; several successful programs were prepared and presented pre-sented to the veterans at the hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake City. A number of trees and shrubs were purchased and planted on the Veteran hospital grounds; successful programs were given on Flag day, Mother's day and Decoration day. The Auxiliary in connection with the Legion, sponsored spon-sored the program, at the cemetery on Memorial day. A Poppy day poster contest was sponsored and one of the most successful Poppy day sales was conducted. Last year's officers who. were responsible re-sponsible for the putting over of this large and varied program were: Mrs. Ethel Graff, president; Mrs. Charles Beck, first vice-president; Mrs. Murray Murdock, second vice-president; vice-president; Mrs. Ed. Moss, secretary; Mrs. Sidney Beck, treasurer; Mrs. Sarah Monson, chaplain; Mrs. Hay-dee Hay-dee Iverson, historian; Miss Rouie Miller, color bearer. o |
