Show : Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Baird have purchased the James Chipman home on Main street directly across the street from the home of William Chipman, from Mrs. Nan Chipman. They moved into their new home the latter part of the week. Mrs. Lillian Bocth and Miss Lu-cile Lu-cile Booth returned home Tuesday after ha.ving spent the past two weeks in Whitney, Idaho. While in Idaho they visited with Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Tanner and Mr. and Mrs. Orval Benson. Mrs. Glen Taylor and her mother, Mrs. J. D. Reese, of Provo, left Tuesday for Chicago for a shcrt visit. Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Reese will meet Mr. Taylor in Euffalo and return home with him. Mr. Taylor has beau in the East for several weeks attending a national furni- j ture market convention. j About 35 members of the Elders ! Pioneers are combining to hold a ! silver tea Wednesday, July 21st from j 3:00 to 6:00 in the Legirui haii. Eight friends of Mrs. Fred Schut-ler Schut-ler surprised her at her home here Tuesday afternoon, the occasion being be-ing Mrs. Schu tier's birthday. A de- ! licious lunch was served, a pink and j white birthday cake serving as a center piece for the table. Larkspurs Lark-spurs and poppies were used in the guest rooms. After luncheon the remainder re-mainder of the afternoon was spent playing games. The guest of honor was presented with an attractive gift. Am. Master Dale Brown, son of Mrs. Anna Brown, left last week for a three weeks trip through Yellowston park with Mr. and. Mrs. John Smith of Ogden. Miss Helen Haslem returned home Saturday from a trip to Yellowstone park. Miss Haslem was gone about a week. Paul Slotte of Bingham and Miss Lucile Edwards of Salt Lake City were married by County Clerk C. A. Grant at the Grant home here Tuesday evening. Miss Leona Kelley left Monday morning for a three weeks trip to California. She will visit with Mrs. William Smith and her family in Los Angeles, and with Mrs. May Donaghy in Oakland, California. Jay Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Anderson, left last Thursday for Glen Raven, North Carolina, where he has secured employment in the power plant of that city. He will visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Wells and other relatives. Mrs. Stanford Wilde was hostess to the Feality club at a "pot luck" party Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Lillie Wilde. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served and the remainder of the afternoon spent sewing and chatting. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walton and Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Gaisford were special guests of Mr. and Mrs. Den-zil Den-zil Brown and the Kiwanis club on the Smith-Strong house boat on Utah Lake Tuesday evening. A trip to Rock Island was made. On the trip out an interesting program was given and box lunches eaten. Miss Donna Grace of Nephi is visiting this week with Miss Beth Allen at the A. B. Allen home here. Mr. and Mrs. H. Leon Ivie and children of Hyrum, Utah, visited the latter part of the week with Air. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Reynolds of Provo were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Allen and family attended the Ute Stampede in Nephi last week. While there they were the guests of Mrs. Lewis Garrett. Ray Greenwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Greenwood of Los Angeles, An-geles, is spending the summer here with his grandmother, Mrs. William Wil-liam Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Coddington, their son, Jack, and Mrs. Elizabeth Coddington left Sunday morning for San Francisco to visit with relatives. rel-atives. They expect to be gone for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen T.' Shelley, Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smith of Pleasant Grove, left this morning for Denver, Colorado, where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Walker. They expect to be gone about a week. The 'Young Bridge club met at the home of Mrs. Elmo Peters in Provo Friday afternoon. Three tables of bridge were played. Mrs. Stanley Peters won the prize. After Af-ter the game a. delicious lunch was served at the small tables by the hostess. Mrs. Emest Chadwick entertained at a. birthday luncheon Friday afternoon. af-ternoon. The guest rooms were decorated with blue and white flowers. flow-ers. A hot chicken lunch was served at the small tables. After lunch bridge was played. Mrs. Moral W. Steele won the first prize and Mrs. Benjamin Moffett the second. There were 12 guests present. i |
