Show Wonderful Parade Now Assurred For Celebration Plans for the biggest and best parade pa-rade ever staged in American Fork are well under way. At a committee commit-tee meeting held Tuesday evening a theme for the 1937 Poultry-Turkey day parade was chosen. The theme, "Fine Feathers Make Fine Birds" will present all kinds of beauty, from youth to age, reaching a shrine of beautiful girls and women of all ages to be presented. John H. Miller is the general clroirman of the parade committee, with Sadie Bromley, chairwoman, and Lillie Shatter, secretary. The Queens float will be sponsored spon-sored by the Junior Literary League with Leona Grant as chairwoman. The float, for Miss American Fork will be sponsored by the parade committee. com-mittee. This foat will be built during dur-ing the coming week and sent to Salt Lake City where it will be entered en-tered in the parade for the 24th cf July celebration in that city. The color bearers and entrants from the American Legion local chapter will be under the direction of H. E. McNiell; Eoy Scouts, Reed H. Robinson; Bands, K. J. Bird. There will be seven bands entered in the parade, Spanish Fork, Nephi, Springville, Lehi, Lincoln, American Fork City band and the American Fork Junior high school band. Concerts Con-certs will be given by the bands at various points in the city prior to the parade. The Poultry section of the parade is under the direction of John Pulley Pul-ley and Kenneth Robinson; Business Busi-ness section, John H. Miller, Lillie Shatter and Rowena Doane; Miscellaneous, Mis-cellaneous, William Chipman, Mrs. William Roberts and Mrs. West Hammond; Comics, Mrs. John Beck, chairwoman ; Leona Anderson, Laura Timpson, Thomas Hanson, Jennie Chadwick, William Kirkpatrick, Walter Hanson, LaGrande Beck and Lewis Steggle; Marshals of the Day, Arthur McAllister, Phillip" Greene, Leslie Parker and Delbert Chipman. Prizes will be given for the best float, the most beautifully decorated decor-ated car and the most humorous comic number. n |
